OUR EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

The principles our project is based on get inspiration from the Charter of the rights of childhood the concept of the centrality of child and their family unit, which express themselves in terms of welcoming, child care, socializing support, integration in respect of differences and cognitive development taking into account the child himself rhytms and times.


Every family will find parenting support in our project.


The project itself will allow families to share the educational path carried out at GIROGIROTONDO nursery.

What we do

GIROGIROTONDO nursery’s educational service is intended for little children (6 - 18 months),
medium (19 - 26 months) and kiddies (27 - 36 months).



A 410 square meter green area is part of the structure.

The three spaces making up the structure as a whole are in their turn divided into 2 big classrooms and the dedicated bathroom. Each classroom has different features: one of them is intended for activities such as hanfling, psychomotricity, graphic and painting workshop and lunch, while the is intended for sleeping, reading and music.
Every space is equipped with a big bathroom for children, with changing table and stairs, three small sinks and water closets. In every space there is a toilet for teachers


OUR

TEACHERS

Staff working at GIROGIROTONDO Nursery
is made up as follows:


9 full time teachers
(3 for each section)


All of them have got a degree in either
Educational Studies, Psychology or Learning Sciences. Together with their coordinator,
they think about, discuss and carry out
the educational project.
Children care and hygiene
will be carried out solely by teachers.
Plus, there will be some full time assistants
that will carry out the structure’s cleaning,
both inside and outside.

are made during the educational programming
and can be edited during school year,
according to children’s needs
abilities and the planning.

is made up of different rooms,
some of which are interconnected.


BILINGUAL TEACHING


The teaching of English language, entrusted to one of the three teachers of each class, and ranging from 36 to 40 hours every week, aims at teaching the language through moments of play, music, creativity and daily actions, from welcoming, to snack - time, to the various laboratories

PEDIATRICIAN

A pediatrician, doctor Marina De Angelis, will meet children at GIROGIROTONDO and will visit those whose parents will have signed a consent.


TODDLERS GROUP/SECTION

The TODDLERS section comprehends two interconnected rooms, so that children can easily move from the reference room to sleeping and bath rooms.


Play and welcoming area, also called reference room, is divided into a room dedicated to meals,
where there is a corner with small tables, chairs and cabinets of various heights.


The remaining area is dedicated to walking
favored by the “first step” piece of furniture,
and to free play, structured with a wide range of large pillows and mirrors.


As per sleep, children will find place in the dedicated room, specifically darkened for rest time.

This room, managed in a multifunctional way, is used for some motor activities, such the colored balls pool or for handling and dirty activities.


The third room is dedicated to change and equippeds with a changing table and a big closet
where parents put their kids’ clean clothes,
three low sinks, a deep bathtub
and three small toilets.



MIDDLE CHILDREN AND
KIDDLES SECTION


Spaces dedicated to MIDDLE and KIDDLES as well are made up of three rooms each.


The activities/lunch room is designed so as to create different play situations.

It is structured as follows

  • A corner dedicated to meals and to activities to be carried out at the table;
  • A corner dedicated to symbolic play;
  • A “soft corner” for book reading and music workshop;
  • A corned dedicated to play and psychomotricity



One of the two rooms in each ambience is used for sleeping routine. They are divided by a wall of glass, and furnished with folding beds.


Every ambience is equipped with a big bathroom

and a changing table, three low sinks

and three small toilets.

For the nursery three sections, lunch is a sharing and socializing time.


PART TIME LEAVE

at 3.00 pm

Children not staying till snck - time leave.


SNACK

from 9.30 to 10.00

Our lady cook serves fresh, clean, pealed fruit for medium children and kiddles and pureed fruit for toddlers


HYGIENE

from 12.30 to 13.00

This is a time for changing the diaper, washing face and hands and hands and dental hygiene for the older ones


AFTERNOON SNACK

from 4.00 to 4.30 pm

Children have a snack with the appetizing ring cakes made by our
cook or with yogurt, cereals and other healthy snacks.


OUR ACTIVITIES
from 10.00 to 11.30

Children are offered various activities in small groups and in the various centers of interest; depending on children age, proposals can vary from reading to fairy tales, to sensory panels, to motor paths for the little ones, to heuristic games, to decanting with natural materials, to water and flour mixtures, to symbolic play, to painting atelier, to the blue boxes, to the basket of disguises for older ones.


BEDDY - BYE
from 1.00 to 3.00 pm

The lights are dim and teachers lie down next to children, guaranteeing them the physical proximity they still need, singing lullabies or letting relaxing music accompany and lull their sleep






FULL-TIME LEAVE
from 4.30 to 6.00 pm

Children dedicate themselves to the workshops proposed by reference figures for each section, or to free play activities.

DISCOVER

NURSERY AIM

Nursery is an educational, social and public service addressed to baby boys and girls
aged fro 6 months to 3 years and to their families. It is committed in saving children’s rights.
Our nursery educational goals originates from the observation of children, whom we consider as active subjects, interacting with both other peer children, teachers, parents and other adults and the surrounding environment.


Our priority is to give each child a place of well - being where to promote growth, psycho - physical development
of each individual personality and respect for others; enhance socialization and provide tools
to gain autonomy, respecting each child’s times and rhythms.


Our method for learning development foresees stimulation of child’s languages through the areas of communication, logic, environment, corporeality and affectivity through projects and workshops.
Furthermore, we aim at supporting families, especially single - parents ones, so that they can reconcile family commitments and career choices and thus facilitate women’s access to working world.
